05-07 Bumper on 2000 Super Duty

I know there are a LOT of people who have done the full front end conversion, or the grill, headlights and bumper conversion. I want to know if JUST the bumper will fit with the old style grill? I have the brackets and a junk bumper, wanted to see if it works out before I go ahead and buy new chrome. I love my 2000 grill and my anzo headlights, I just want the 6.0 style bumper. Thanks!

Don't quote me, but since no one has spoken up about it, I believe you cannot just do bumper alone because things don't line up as far as the grille goes. If you look at anyone who has done just the grille you will see the grille has either been trimmed along the bottom about an inch or two, or they bought a modified grille. Look on eBay at the modified ones and you'll see what I mean.

As far as the bumper itself I think they bolt on like ours would, but you would have a serious gap below your grille and above the bumper from what I can tell.

This shows a '12 bumper for reference. I think the portions open on this won't be as much of a factor on yours as much as the bottom gap itself under the grille....

On the '05 the bumper still follows the bottom line of the headlights, but drops lower leaving a similar gap.

If you do it I definitely would love to see how it looks. Maybe a led light bar along the front top of the bumper to fill in the gap??

Edit: Almost forgot...this guy said the bottom holes lined up but he had to drill a couple holes for the top which he said was no big deal at all. But that's for the '12 bumper so you might be good on bolting it up.

Here's another photo of a 6.7 era bumper on a 7.3.

Alright, I'll have to mock it up and see how it looks. My buddy has a 6.0 so I'll measure the grill and see what the damage is

You can. Put an 05 bumper on there. It will physically mount, but the body lines will be off without the proper grille.
