2011-12 grille on excursion ?!

Haven't really looked too much into it other than comparing pics online.

I looking for a 11-12 front bumper, and I'm curious how the grille would work. I know it's bigger, but since ill have the bumper, the bottom may match up okay, wondering if its the same width, maybe I'd only have to mod the hood? Any ideas? Willing to try it out if its worth the try!

you would need a whole 11-up front end. hood, lights, bumper, fenders underlying supports. then you need to cut and modify the frame to match the lower bumpers of the 08-up trucks. not a easy or bolt on deal.

no way it would work on the older body style.

How about just the bumper, I've seen the older trucks with just the newer 2012 bumper on it

pics please, the only direct bolt up is the 05-07. a 08-10 or 11-up bumper would be way to small.

How would it be too small? The 08-10 May bolt up but won't work because its flat along the top as the grill doesn't dip down into the bumper like ours does as well as the 11+

I have a pic but I gotta find it

the bumpers are much shorter on the 08-up trucks including the 11's

found it! cant find the thread still, but there wasn't much info in it anyways (however like i said i can SWEAR he said it was a bolt on). it does actually look like its a tad WIDE (past the grille), looks like if you cut about 2" out of the center and welded it back together it would be perfect. i think it looks badass!!!!

Not really sure about that one, the light/grill gaps as well as the overhang need some tweaking. It might be pretty close to a bolt on since the 11 frame was raised a bit in the front from the 08-10 years. The tow hooks are not reusable.

A set of bushwacker flares would help with the width, but I think some type of filler plate needs to be used to cover the grill/headlight gap.

idk about the frames changing between 08-10/11-up as i install plow frames on them and the same kit is used from 08-current with no changes i think the major difference is in the bumper itself.

Looks like you were correct. The front frame height and width is the same, looks like the only differences are the 11 frame sections are thicker and the front frame horns for the bumpers are different, but should be interchangeable except for bolt hole locations.

Yea that's the thread I was looking for lol.

Russ, you're always wrong. Jk lol.

And yea, I actually plan on buying cutout flares here in a few weeks, and I'm looking for a painted front bumper rather than chrome, so im going to have a buddy weld in like a filler plate at the lower corners under the grille to fill the gaps. Then get it re powder coated. I thinjk it'll look nice!
