On my 07 Outlaw I ordered a new driver mirror as the paint on the origional was in bad shape.
I popped the inside door cover to access the bolts. There were 5 I think. The center one is a weird "nut" looks like 3 prongs sticking up looking at me. HOW IN THE HECK DO YOU GET THIS OFF?? the rest were a standard nut no biggie....
I have a picture of it but I dont think I have enough posts to put it up yet....
I tried using a needle nose pliers to get it off and she is purty tight....
There should have been 4 nuts, 2 behind the plastic door sill trim piece you had to pull off, and 2 behind the top and bottom rubber grommets. Take those (10 or 12mm) nuts off, unplug the connector (you need to take speaker out) and the mirror should pull straight out. Not sure what this 3 pronged thing is
You shouldnt need to remove anything from behind the middle grommet, ive swapped mirrors 3 times on my old truck. Took me about 5 minutes a side on the last set. 4 nuts, connector, they pull right off. The thing you are looking at might be an alignment tab or something?
Yep, thats not involved, its part of the mirror but the hole on the truck it goes into is bigger than it. Should pull right off if you have the 4 nuts off, might need a little tug if its been on there the while. The foam between the mirror and truck can form a bond
gotcha.... i added some window vents and had to pull the top of the mirrors out to allow the vents to go down in the proper place and couldnt hardly get them out enough to slide them in...
just looked on my 2010 work truck and see a similiar piece but slightly different
thanks for the help... soon as the new mirror gets in (weather held up the delivery a day or two) ill take some pics for others like me that dont know much better lol
