trans slipping?

trans slipping?
06 f250 6.0l
Been having this issue with my trans here and there. While driving from a stop, it'll shift fine through the gears. Other times, it'll shift 1-2 fine (or 1-3), can't remember, but first 2 (or 3) gears will shift firmly, then it feels like it slips into the next. Trans fluid is bright red still, made sure of that when I had my cab off for head studs and gaskets. Nothing smells burnt. No codes. 77000 on it, but to my knowledge it has never had a trans flush or filter internal or external. I'm planning on dropping the pan this weekend and putting a new internal and external filters. Should I get it flushed after this? Or is there something else I can look at as to why this is happening?
