Idler and tensioner part numbers

Hi guys,

Just looking at doing some preventative maintenance since I was last in there doing the belt, one of the pullies seemed to have a slight squeak.

I am not sure on all the part numbers for the pullies and tensioner assembly I need....can anyone help me with that?
......or a place where I can buy the exact bearings and r&r those, which I've done with other tensioners in the past.

The dealer wants too much money and it is obvious they don't sell repair parts for this. For my truck with only 70k on the engine, it is NOT necessary to replace everything for a noisy bearing.

I found a site that sells the bearings only. For a single alternator 2004 (mine) the following is required:

3 bearings @ $5.34
1 bearing @ $7.34

I bought just the bearings and replaced them all when I did my engine rebuild. I believe it was three 6203 bearings and one 6303, if my memory is correct. I hunted around and bought some higher grade bearings than most parts houses sell, since I've had really bad luck with parts-house 6203 bearings not lasting long. So far so good, and I ordered them here: USA Bearings and Belts

One thing to keep in mind though. You will hear a slight squeak at startup or shut down for a LONG time before you need to replace it for fear of failure, so I would wait until you have other work to do unless it gets really noisy.

I will look into your recommended site for the HD bearings. I talked to the girl running the show and she suggested they sell only HD bearings due to the premature failure. These bearings that they use have given them 4+ years of trouble free service.

I don't have any squeaks at startup or shutdown.

The last time I was in there replacing my belt I spun the pullies just out of habit. The idler on the right side was a tad noisy, all others fine. I think it migh be time to change em all.

If you don't have any squeaks, then I wouldn't worry about it. They will make minor noise for several weeks or months before needing to be replaced. Here is what I ordered, I bought extra 6203s for other applications and an extra 6303 so I could do the bearings on my dad's 6.0L when the time comes.
