Truck is 06, 6.0, 93000 mi, Superchip set on Ecomony mode, Trans flush done at 57000,( yep due for another) last new ext filter at 80000,Fluid level OK, Mercon SP fluid. Been having issue for a while, but now with colder weather happens more. When cold, trans temps(below 60~70*) trans doesnt shift until ~2700 to 2900 rpm, unless I let off go pedal and it will shift into next gear. When temps reach ~100 starts shifting fine, fully warmed up no probs at all. In mornings I let truck warm up for ~5 mins before leaving, not driving hard. Havn't had battery unhooked for over a year. Do I need to do the relearn process again or do I have internal issues (HOPING NOT)? Thanks for any help!!
Even Engine issues will cause the trans to shift funney
My injector orings leaked awhile back and that would cause Funky trans operation
Get some gauges check the engine out also monitor the trans temp make shure the temp sender isnt going bad
Scan for codes
Probably going to take one of the better code readers to check for trans codes
If nothing comes up get the trans fluid and filter changed that might help Kinda a long shot IMO your not that far over most synthetic trans fluids will go 50K I know the Torque shift says 30K change but
I have an '06 with 60k miles on it now. At about the 30k mark I started getting a really hard final downshift while pulling the toy hauler in tow haul mode. It was a big enough jolt to cause things on the seats to hit the floor; enough to chirp the rear tires on hot 100+ deg OAT mid day pavement a time or two. Just started out of the blue mid trip. I took it in under warranty and a reflash cured it. Heard there is also a Transgo kit for some issues.
Have Outlook for gauges, monitors boost, trans temp, egt, & water so I been watchin that for trans temps. I know I'm due for flush and internal filter(didn't change int filter on flush I heard they just kept out small rocks & Boulders) maybee try that. Also I had my FICM repaired by Ed last Dec/Jan, had the cold start issues, it helped a little but keep truck inside most of the time (heated garage in winter), left it outside other nite @ 32* and cold start issues still there(Black smoke, choppy idle, almost dies until high idle kicks on) so maybee I need to look into that more?? injectors or o-rings?? How do I test o-rings on injectors?? Thanks guys
