the best way to repair a blown out plug is the helicoil kit with tap and insert.. Do Not get the kit that has the drill bit and guide or your truck will never run right again!!!!

So which is it? This kit doesn't have a drill bit and guide...

That's a negative Ghost Rider....helicoil is NOT the best way to repair a blown plug.
Here's the difference between helicoil and an insert from one of my previous posts (edited version of my post):

This is a helicoil. A coil inserted into the old plug hole, creating theads.
An insert, like Timesert, is a solid threaded bushing that mounts in the hole.
Yep, Ford dealerships have done quite a few. Do you know what was used before Lock-N-Stitch became the Ford Motor Company approved way of fixing spit plugs?
Dealerships would use a different insert, like Timesert.
Lock-N-Stitch really are excellent inserts, but if you don't have the cash for them, you can use a Timesert too.
Change your plugs on a cold engine and torque the plugs to 12 to 14 ft lbs of torque.
What's best doesn't matter unless you have the time, place and know-how. Of course there's always the dealer but then you have to have the money. Thought I'd share this since a lot of people don't have either and this looks simple and effective.
Assuming that most people do NOT carry a timesert or helicoil handy in case this were to happen while on that long road trip, this is pretty ingenious and handy for about $50. The Advance Auto has one so I'm going to pick one up.
The Dorman kit uses an insert that requires a special spark plug and trust me it does not run right with the special plug... The Heli coil kit puts normal threads back in the hole and you use the factory plug a much better fix.... Sorry for not clearing that up sooner...
