now that I have replaced/repaired the lock actuators. i got a replacement key fob from Amazon. I can get the truck into programming mode with the 8 cycles of the key but then nothing. I am assuming it is the fob is bad and am sending it back for replacement (yes I tried a new battery first too) Before I drop it in the mail and pay for return shipping, is there anything else I should check?
Where is the reciever for the remote? Could I be missing something simple?
When it goes into programming mode, ths lock goes up and down to signal it's in programming mode. Then you press a button on the fob and the locks move up and down to let you know it accepted the code from the fob. Did it do that?
Yes, the lock cycles at programing mode but nothing after that even with a fresh battery. Once or twice I would get a second lock cycle but then nothing again. is there a receiver that could be bad, or just a bad remote?
Just got a new fob for my Ex. Dealer gave it to me and programed it while they did other repairs. Also repaired all my electric doors, figure I'm keeping the truck for at least 2-3 years and just want everything working.
what did they charge for the FOB?
I just did the actuators myself replaced the front two and took the rear two off and apart to repair them. First one took forever but after that we rolled right along. Still have to do then rear door. figured out the code for the door today. took about 40 minutes to hit the right one
