Remote Key Fob question

Over the weekend, my factory remote key fob stopped working suddenly. It worked fine when I went to unlock the Expy, but when I hit the "lock" button on the fob, nothing happened. Same thing with the "unlock" button. Nothing works. The power locks work fine from inside the vehicle when using the door mounted switches. I tried the spare fob which also was working, but it will not lock or unlock the truck either. Is there a fuse in the fuse block for the remote sensor? The keyless entry keypad works fine. I was thinking perhaps the battery in the fob died, but for both fobs to suddenly not work is puzzling. Anyone have any ideas?

Replace the batteries in the fobs. I have done this a couple times when I had to get close to the vehicle for it to work.

Thanks. Kinda what I figured the issue may be - just seemed odd that both fobs don't work. I'll replace the batteries and let you know how it goes.

Ok, just replaced the batteries and still no go. Any other thoughts on what might be wrong? Guess you never really become aware just how accustomed you are to having the ability to unlock your doors without the key until the fobs stop working. This is driving me up the wall!

Figured it out! Somehow, the truck was de-programmed to recognize the remote transmitters. I re-programmed the fobs by following the directions in the owner's manual and they're working again!

I'm kinda having the same problem. My fob only works half the time though. But when it DOES work, I have to be at least 20 feet or closer. I've already tried a new battery, and it didn't make it any better. I'm thinking I'll have to buy another key fob, huh? Or should I try reprogramming it with that ignition on/off thing 8x in 10 seconds? I don't have an owners manual, only a maintenance manual because I bought the truck used.

had the same problem kep old key fob and bought 2 more off ebay for 10.00, put in 3 new batteries and programmed all at same time everything works fine
