I was wondering is there a way to make my key less entry work with my truck running? If the ignition is on my key less remote will not lock or unlock the doors. I would like to be able to leave my truck running and have my key less remote and be able to lock and unlock the doors is there a way to do this or not?
if you hit 7/8 9/0 at the same time it will lock the doors when the truck is running, I do it all the time in the winter if it's at a short stop and it keeps the truck warm. Then reopen like you normally would with the code.
That happened to my wife when I was out of town. She started the truck and went back inside and some how hit the door lock as she got out. Spare keyfob would not open the door. Had to let it run for 45 minutes until parts shop freind of ours could stop by and pop the lock.
Do all of our trucks come with a fob? If so the P/O lost it... Is there anywhere in the truck to look to see if there is a wireless reciever?
The key fob is an option, mainly it depends on the trim level of the truck. It was standard for the Lariats, and I think most XLT's had it. I'm sure it's rare to find an XL with one.
You could have the Ford dealership pull up your vin and tell you if it came with the keyless entry option.
