i have the 5013 (oem '93 n/a auto trans ip) also and i'll be sending mine to usdieselparts.com and having it rebuilt to db2 5069 specs (oem '93 turbo auto trans ip)
but, other things still keep braking on the 20 yr old pita lol so i haven't gotten this far yet.
stanadyne E codes are what came oem in the '93 n/a. stanadyne G codes for the turbo's in '93 (i did finally put these in.)
this is if your looking for oem spec stuff.
so the 5069 would be preferable for my banks turbo?
i'm not looking to go tuning and all types of crazy stuff. i just want a reliable rig with reliable power.
besides, it's only a matter of time before the engine goes, least that's what i hear.
i had my pump rebuilt locally, cost me $600. i've read good things about ebay seller "hector with injectors", and he has it listed for $245 IIRC. i decided to go local thinking i would have it back in just a couple days, but it took them 2 weeks anyway - i don't plan to be going back to that shop, but we live and learn i guess. i would have been faster shipping it back and forth.
my injectors came from pensicola, and so far they're running fine
remember that only a small percentage of customers write reviews, and many of those who do only post when they're angry
note that you'll want a couple bottles of diesel-kleen with your new pump, mine started stalling when i let off the pedal with 1500 miles on the rebuild, one bottle of DK solved it
I got my "new" reman pump and injectors from Pensacola and it stopped working after about 3 wks. called them up and they swapped it for a new one, no problem. Ok, 1 small problem, I forgot to take the little brass doohickey for the fuel line off the top of the IP before I shipped it back, but that's my fault. I have no complaints about their product or service. oh, don't know if it matters, but my truck is NA, no turbo.
last thing i want is my "new" ip to go out when i'm 200 miles from home. no fun in that!
so why does thedieselstore.com charge over $100 more for their pump vs usdieselparts.com?
usdieselparts claims their techs are stanadyne certified. they offer a db2-5070 that i'd be willing to get but it's for a manual. could i still use that with my automatic?
i would call them and ask them why their pumps cost more than some other place.if you don't get the reason(s) that you feel it's worth paying more for, then don't.
then i would do the same with the vendor offering a lower cost ip.ask them why they are charging 100$ less.it could be they are cutting corners, it could be their competition is simply over charging,or it could be the same exactly quality but that particular vender buys more replacement parts in bulk and can therefore pass on the savings.
to the best of my knowledge, the db2 5070 is the same ip as the 5069 but lacks the fipl (tps) bracket and mounting the bracket on the 5070 makes it exactly a 5069.
