Ok so many im sure have read my previous post (7.3 idi turbo skipping) so after resealing my injectors and still having the same problem i bit the bullet and took it to my local diesel repair shop where the guy test drove it for about a mile and told me to find another ip because mine was about to take a dirt nap. So what is my best option new, reman, used or pull mine off and have it built? What is a fair price for each option, I thought about rebuilding it myself and having it calibrated but ive never built a stanadyne pump just a couple of inline pumps on equipment and stationary engines seems like it may be a bit much for me to do.Additionally i have a nearly new pump for a 7.3 with a manual trans will it interchange with my auto trans pump as the e40d wont shift without the tps. Thanks for any help or advice as im broke annoyed and now without transportation
i bought a spare or two at the local pick-n-pull for dirt cheap, and when it was time for a rebuilt pump, i sent one in to my local diesel shop, and they sent it down to the IP rebuilder they work with, and charged me 600, which seemed a bit too high, considering i could have had it done faster through guys on ebay for half the price. but i guess we live and learn.
going locally, it took over 2 weeks of waiting, and their communication was quite poor. if i didn't have my engine torn apart for a blown head gasket, i would have been quite irritated after a week of not hearing back from them.
