Quick question regarding G Code injectors. I have a 1992 F350 4x4 CC 5spd with a 7.3 and a Banks Turbo. As far as I know the IP (which is turned up) and injectors are standard N/A items. I was wondering what if any performance advantages there would be if I were to replace the injectors with G code ones and maybe even upgrade the IP with a turbo pump. I purchased the vehicle from the original owner who took great care of it. The truck has 184,000 miles on the truck and a little over 100,000 on the turbo system and a resleaved motor. I believe it would be safe to assume that even if the injectors and and IP pump were replaced with the motor they would probably be pretty worn given that great low sulfur diesel (not sure if previous owner used any addative). Also, I am probably going to add an intercooler so if there is an even better injector and IP combination I sould be looking at, I am all ears. If this question has already been answered somewhere else in the forum, I appologize in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Check into the moose pump if you are looking for performance. There is a thread on the first few pages that is called moose pump it has some info on it if you wade through the bs. I do think there is a gain with the turbo pump, but some claim the g codes are basicali an epa thing and the bb are as good or better.
G codes will not work well for you, I have tried them with my ats setup and they didnt perform well at all, timing was off and very noisy. the g's were designed only for the true turbo pump, there are no performance gains. Matched bb codes are the way to go, even for the factory turbo engine. several places have them for sale including myself.
Thanks for the info. Typefour, what do you mean by "matched" bb injectors? Also, do you have a number or a web site where I can get in touch with you? I was reading about the performance cam and might be interested in that as well. I'm trying to get more power without swapping in a Cummins (although I've loved every cummins I've owned). I know I'll never be able to reach the Cummins power levels with the 7.3 but a few more ponies would be nice pulling my trailer and all my gear in the mountains.
