I've read so much about this but can't find the mod. Is it the spring in the fuel regulator? and if so, where do you get it? Thanks for your help,
Chet
If u can afford it,go with alligator diesels regulated return kit 4 the 6.0.....i have installed every reg return out there.....literally....and alligator diesels kit is the best. Greg at alligator designed that kit and only used high quality parts. His instruction on install is str8 forward,my youngern can figure it man....its high as giraffe koochie but will protect your injectors from air and fuel starvation....
Thanks Guys! Just printed this out and plan to order the parts. I can't do the regulated return because its a California truck. They look for that kind of thing but thanks for the info. Its for my son also. He's also ordering the 58 volt FICM from swamps, anything bad about them? He tows a 40 footer toy hauler.
My position is that the 58 volt FICM does little to no good, and can do harm, so stay away from it. If you analyze what the FICM and the injector solenoids are doing, adding voltage there does nothing to add to performance but does increase the current in the coils, the wiring and the power output MosFET's in the FICM, which would all be bad. The only good thing I can think of is it would mask the occurrence of a stiction issue by over-driving the shuttle valve.

You gotta be kiddin me. I hate talkin bad bout any state.....well,unless its your college football team! Roll tide! For real tho,im hearing all this talk about how cali dont let u do this or do that. Wtf!? But they will let south central be south central? Talk about your rights being taken! Dude, you need to move to bama or texas! Hell, down here its legal to cut the cats off, right around with no hood. Cars dont get stolen down here cause they wont accelerate over 40,a car theif wont steal a car with diffrent colored panels, that burns a gallon of oil every mile, that has a rebel flag on the rear windsheild or diffrent size tire all the way around. So its almost non exsistant down here....smog? You can still go to a stream and drink outta of it....

I would have him cancel that order. 48V FICM does the job perfectly fine. 58V seems to be just a gimmick
have him send his FICM to ED @ FICM Repair and get the ATLAS 40 tune installed instead. Cheaper, and ED will verify the FICM is good to go...and fix it if needed.
I don't know if he ordered it or not, all I told him was on the 7.3 the IDM mod works great. I know the FICM is different but he talked to swamps and they talked him into it with I believe 40 or 60 tune also. You guys are great, thanks for your help.
