My next purchase for my Ex is probably going to be the blue spring mod, and I'll probably do that in conjunction with my upcoming oil change (first one for me on my Ex!)
I see complete kits going for right around $60-$70 on places like Amazon.com and eBay.com. Does anyone out there have a vendor that they recommend, or a kit that they recommend?
There are a few videos on You Tube that can show you how to complete this mod. Just search Blue Spring Mod.
Also make sure that you have the correct torx bit before you start the project. I think it is a 27 (watch the videos to be sure).
It only took me about half an hour to do mine. I did not remove the coolant hose so that saved quite a bit of time/work.
The mod is very easy, but be sure to put the little plastic pieces back the way they came out.
Good luck on your mods.
Wahtch the video from Diesel Tech Ron, he shows an easy way of doing it without removing the coolant hose. Search him on youtube and you will find his video.
I am getting ready to do this mod myself in the next few days.
Thanks for the info and for the assistance, dudes! I'll look up Clay at Riffraff and the video from Diesel Tech Ron. I'll have to verify that I have a T27, I don't think I do, I have a T25 and a T30, but nothing in between. Thanks!
