Since I am going to be taking my steering linkage apart to install the new steering box, I would really like to find a replacement bushing for the bottom of the steering column that actually has some quality. When I replaced the shaft a while back I bought the one shown in LMC's catalog, but it was really cheezy so I didn't put it in. I wish that year had one available that had a bearing in it like some of the other year options I found.
Has anyone found one of these that are quality replacements for this year?

Hey Dan I just did my 75 manual steering column upper bearings and rubber sleeve ,TSS, and this lower column bearing, can be welded in or with screws provided, pretty stout fit like a glove,I am also putting power steering where there was no power steering, again my column is a 75 4x4 Oh yea I got everything at the Bronco Graveyard
That is exactly what I want to do, but it didn't say it was for my year. Any chance you could mic the OD of your column shaft and the steering shaft itself so that I can see if mine are the same? I "assume" that this was the oem column, but you never know when you didn't buy it new.
yea i know ,I thought the same thing,Montana HB gave me a heads up on that a while back and sure enough fit like a glove,my column is original 75 ,Ill get some measurments for you,,,,,,,2 1/8 inches thats inside dia hang tight ill mic the os..........2 1/4 os dia

So this might be a dumb question, but I picked up the bearing today and it is just that, a bearing. Based on the pic I was thinking that it was a cap and bearing. Does this somehow fit into the old bushing? Naturally I cannot find the replacement bushing that I bought and didn't use to check. Thanks.
ok,the lower bearing had a rubber sleeve around it and it would recess into your original plastic housing, the steel bearing JBG sells just slides into your column and gets screwed or tack welded. ( wildhorses) item # 2676 wild horses 4x4 Column Bearing Sleeve 74-77

Text section of parts catalog: When you look up 3D681 lower bearing retainer (D3TZ-3D681-A obsolete), catalog says includes bearing and sleeve. The bearing and sleeve could also be bought by themselves.
See parts catalog pic in post 2 / No FoMoCo Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has D3TZ-3D681-A

That is the part that I am missing. I have the piece in your picture that is white, but it just has a hole in it for the column shaft and it has been rounded out from years of use. I assume that this piece fits into that housing and the bearing goes inside this sleeve?
