Good setup?

Hey I got a 78 bronco with a 400 in it it's a 4 speed. I'm going to put a new cam in it and I think I'm going with a comp cam xtreme energy advertised duration of 262/270. I'm going to put a 2 plain intake and 4 bbl carb and also headers. Would that be a good setup? I'm not really planning on pulling anything with it. I want a good throttle response and acceleration. Thanks

If your not getting roller lifters make sure you get an oil that has a lead additive for your break in, 2000 miles, but do an oil change after at most 2 hours after changing the cam, filter and inspect your oil for metal shavings. That cam is probably pushing your valve springs to the limit. If you have high mileage on your motor or are going to roller rockers replace them.

Do yourself a favor and put new valve springs in. Stockers are old and have never been north of what, 3500 rpm? Plus they might coil bind with the extra lift. You won't be happy with that.
