No I stopped looking as well. Work and life keep getting in the way of working on the truck. The woman has a list of things to do, which I need to get done befor next weekend. I already know I'm not going to get it all done. Once I get finished working 7/12's I'm going to hire a guy from Home Depot to help me finish her list. So I can get back to my list. Well that's my little plan anyway.
Haha I gotcha, we have been busy with life as well. Besides the obvious issue, we have been renovating a bathroom and I have this new job I am getting used too. Once the Bronco is back and better, I can swing by the JY some time and see what's there. Maybe we will get lucky and find a good one.
How about the rear racks like the jeepers do? Get a factory spare tire carrier and weld on a high lift jack mount
The swing mounts? Nah I'll pass on that crap The work required to get those hinges in and able to hold a 35 along with other stuff wouldn't be worth it. I was kind of thinking about something like this:
But I don't know how well those would work. It would be on there 24/7 holding at least a spare and jack. Then a gas tank at some point and maybe some rope.
I just saw a guy with that type a deal. He hit a bump and that thing bounced all over the place. Way more than it should have. I thought to myself no way would I buy one. But maybe he installed it wrong.
You can beef one up no problem. My friend who wheels a cherokee has a swing out tire carrier that holds a 35, tow straps, and a high lift jack no problem.
A 35" tire isn't going to be light, as I'm sure you are aware. The issue with the roof racks is if you're having to get if off of there on say, the side of I-5, or maybe a highway, by yourself.

Other way to go is behind the rear seat.
Can't beef it up when half your mounting area is bondo And yeah, I figured it wouldn't be easy if I had to change it but it won't be impossible. I can't put it behind the rear seat due to this,

Hahaha well that makes things a little different... And that's a pretty schweet looking setup you've got there. How much power do you have going to those bad boys?

Reason: html derp
Nothing real special but it will thump if I make it. the channels for 1&2 don't work so I have 3&4 bridged and going to the subs. The amp is attached to the top of the box. I got the subs and 2 amps for around $180 from a friend. One sub was sold with my Ranger but I kept these for myself.
For the head unit it is just a $50 radio from walmart. It has sub controls and a CD player that I've never used. I wired it all up myself and had to do quite a lot of searching to find my radio wires. They have been cut quite a few times.
Dylan I have an idea on a tire rack/system that we can talk about at the meet
along with the camping stuff.
BTW I don't know if I said any thing about this. But I now know why I was unable
to see my fuel gauge. I replaced lamps yesterday and found I have a broken
trace on the circuit board to the lamps on the left half of my cluster. I looked at
what it would cost to replace it
Part Number 6C3Z10849AA
Part Name INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
MSRP $560.00
Core $0.00
Online Price $400.40
From Tousley Ford Parts Depot
So you can see why I want to see if I can fix the stupid thing.
It's also one of the control modules for some of the systems in the truck
like the power delay relay. And it also will cause a limp mode if running out of fuel.
that hitch mounted rack shown in post #64 is similar to one i have. mine is a harbor freight model, rated for 500 pounds. i've had it up to about that weight a few times, and its a little tweaked, but it takes the abuse. i won't say its steady by any means, but its functional when i need it. having a spare tire on there would be a little awkward.
