I am getting ready to install my steering stabilizer kit.. (Buy Monroe Magnum Steering Damper Kit SA1930 at Advance Auto Parts) I have a 9'' lift 6 suspension and 3'' body the kit i believe that was used was super-lift. At least that's what the blowed out shocks that were on it when i bought it were. It has drop brackets for everything and was done right so the question i have is what in the hell kind of steering setup do i have. I have my drop pitman arm that connects to a bar (Drag link?) which is parallel with the ground. Then connected in the middle of that bar is both drag links 1 going to passenger side 1 going to driver side. The kit i bought connects to frame and then to what? i assume the first bar connected to pitman arm but i dont know... Sorry about the long post but i am stumped my question is bold thank you.
Sounds like SuperLift's SuperRunner steering kit. Normally a steering damper connects to something stationary(axle or frame bracket) and to a tie rod or drag link. You may have to get creative with that steering setup to mount the stabilizer. Just make sure the damper doesn't rub on anything and it does not bottom or top out at full steering lock.
ok thanks it look like i will be able to bolt to frame then to the first bar parallel with the ground i dont know what you would call it. i might need to make my own drop down bracket for it out of steel.
