"S" shaped drag link

Does anyone know where I could get a drop drag link? I've seen them in mags as an alternative to a 3000 dollar crossover steering setup from dynatrac.

The Dynatrac kit isn't only a x-over and trac bar relocation. It's a complete, extremely well built, axle upgrade kit that will also give you serviceable bearings so that you don't have the stock non serviceable ones. I think that the Dynatrac SD Combo is a good buy for what it gives you.

For just x-over and trac bar relocation look at ORU's site, cheaper than the whole axle upgrade kit. I don't care much for their trac bar relocation (which has to be done with x-over to maintain proper steering geometry) since it the lower mount is relocated on top of the axle tube. For trac bar relocation I prefer the system offered by Donahoe Racing, it relocates the lower mount to the top of the passenger side spring pack and extends the trac bar 6" to have it about the same length as the drag link used in x-over for correct steering geometry to avoid any bumpsteer.

Those "S" drag links aren't an alternative to x-over steering. I don't think that they do anything to reduce the amount of stress that is placed on the sector shaft of the steering box.....the only benefit I see in them is that they will prevent the drag link from being able to run into the passenger side leaf pack.
This truck had a drag link like that and if I remember correctly from the guy that built it, it was custom done (not 100% sure though).

Just FYI, that truck has since gotten the Dynatrac kit (tech install was in the new Four Wheeler).

So in my opinion, any SD w/over 8" of suspension lift SHOULD get x-over steering and trac bar relocation.

Hope this helps.

I do know about the dynatrac kit. I know the sealed bearings are a problem. However, it wouldn't matter if it could make your truck fly. I can't afford 3 grand for it. Heck I'm budget shopping to try to find the lift for around a grand

I would love to have the xover steering and maybe I'll call ORU or Donahoe and price theirs but those s shaped drag links do solve the problem of angle on the ball joint on the top of the drag link.

Even w/ ORU or Donahoe you'll still pay over $1000 for the x-over and trac relocation.

As far as the S shaped drag link, you could just get a extreme drop pitman arm for cheap.

The problem still with over 8" or so of suspension lift using either the S shaped drag link or just a big pitman arm is the stress on the sector shaft of the steering box.

I think that's an issue of the drop pitman arm more so than the drag link. That's why I want one. To eliminate the need for a huge drop pitman arm. IMHO the drag link would not stress the shaft if you had a regular pitman arm. At least not as much as the drop pitman arm.

I know all about what you're saying.

If I had the drop drag link then I wouldn't need a huge drop trac bar bracket to eliminate bump steer because the overall angle would be the same.

I would like maybe a 4" drop pitman arm and the same for the trac bar and make up the rest of the drop with the drag link and just get an adjustable track bar or have mine lengthened.

I guess what I'm saying is that I appreciate your concern but I know what these parts do and I wasn't really looking for advice so much as seeing if anyone knew where to purchase one or have one made.

I don't mean to offend so I hope I haven't

Haven't offended at all .
You could try calling Matt at Attitude Performance . He built the truck in the pic up above.......he might be able to sell it to you or hook you up with a place to buy it.

Out of curiousity (sp??) how much lift will you be running .

Hope this helps.

8 or 10 inches. Most likely 8 for now.

I just don't like huge drop pitman arms and can't afford crossover steering. I'll probably end up with a 6" drop pitman arm and just eat the other 2 inches and leave it at that but I wanted to explore this idea first
