I saw another thread on trim and it got me wondering about my truck .
The cab exterior top is orange , black body with white stripes along the side and over the hood .
Orange headliner , seat trim , and orange tinted rubber floor mat .
Explorer hood ornament , base trim .
Is this a package .
Is there a source for the stripes?
Its the explorer package, my truck has the same stripes you are talking about i believe. The paint stripes for the package were different each year i think...others will know more than me! Truck sounds cool, have a photo?
Yes, it's the '75 Explorer package.
White stripes are no longer available. There are a few of the other colors still available from some obsolete suppliers but they aren't going to be good for anything other than a pattern. These stripes have a shelf life of about two years, after that the glue is no good.
Here's a '75 I have.
If you want to paint the stripes on, here's a diagram I made for another member.
The stripes grow on you .
I am collecting parts for the body . I have outer fenders painted and stored in a safe place .i didn't paint was that expensive . I bought a new inner fender , looking for a radiator support .
It is a work on progress .
Last year the Highboy got a new windshield and slider with fresh rubber , '96 8 lug factory aluminum wheels with BFG 235-85-16 KO, and new to
me Weatherguard big crossbow and pork hop toolboxes.
It is a daily driver and a work truck .

Nope, not a chance! The stripes on the Pumpkin are going to be the '73 version.
The really rough sketch of the '75's stripe was done in a hurry for another FTE member. It was late and I was running out of daylight.
