I found this 50 watt Cree on Ebay and it works for me very well http://www.ebay.com/itm/191256756449?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageNa me=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Reason: typo
Do you have any pics, maybe a night time shot with them working? I'm curious, and as my eyes age a little extra light at night never hurts Especially with the windows tinted

I realize I'm jumping on here a little late but I just bought a 2012 and I've noticed the same thing. I like truck, but I hate the reverse lights! They're not bright enough, and not big enough. I thought about installing a set of LED fog lamps under the back bumperand wiring them into the existing reverse lamps, but if I can get a set of LED bulbs from eBay to do the same thing that's even better.
VMARAUDER, if you're still on this site how do you like those LED bulbs? I might order them and try them out.
Here are my reverse lights I did about a month ago. Big improvement. Less than a 2 amp draw total. The easiest way to wire these is to use the reverse wire on the 7 pin if you have the tow package and then run your grounds to a bolt.
Thanks for responding Olytlr. Those lights installed into the bumper like that looks a lot more professional and almost like a factory option, too. I thought of doing that, just plugging something into the 7-pin trailer harness. I do have the factory tow package so that would be easy enough. If you ever need to use the 7-pin connector to tow a trailer, just disconnect those lights and you're all set.
Question: Does this do anything weird with the computer like trick it into thinking you're constantly towing a trailer or something? This 2012 '150 is the most technically advanced vehicle I've ever had, and I'm still getting used to it. Forgive me if that sounds like a dumb question but I'm still not used to a truck that actually "thinks and learns" for itself! I swear my truck is smarter than the fool behind the wheel! Lol
Not a dumb question at all and I have read on another forum that someone did have an issue with the truck thinking a trailer is connected. I didn't have an issue. I think it depends on the amperage draw from the lights. I got the 18w Amazon specials for cheap and I don't have any problems.

Thanks for the answer. That helps me out a lot! So if I stay at 18w or less I should be okay then? I appreciate the help.
1) Thanx for the inspiration
2) I pretty much copied jus2shy's idea.
3) Originally I used the "enhanced LED's" to make hooking up a trailer easier @ night.
--> To make the lights stay on, I made a "jumpered" relay (R39) to leave the reverse lights on w/o having the transmission in reverse. Over time I put a switch on the dash to power the lights w/o being in reverse, therefore I don't have to open the hood and do a relay swap when attaching my trailers.
--> Eventually I added a back-up / rear view camera, also to make trailer hook up easier., the "enhanced reverse light (LED's) work great and really light up the world behind me for the camera to see. Plus the "backup light override switch, turns on the backup camera IF I need to give a look at what is behind my truck, below the tailgate.
