You could fashion a slide hammer from a needle-nose vise grip and get a good hold on it while spraying it w/ some sea-foam and allowing it to work the carbon free. It'll take time, hours, of going to it, spraying it and waiting and going back again. not fun. If you're not sure about the slide mod, just replace the screww w/ a 6" 'er and loadd it up w/ some fender washers spot welded on the side to give it some mass. Back and forth might do it. If the tip is really bent and/or bulged too much you gotta problem. One thing for sure, from what I've read its not reccommended to turn over the engine and let it shoot out. Worst case scenario is head removal.

Sorry to hear of your problem I'm sure others on this site have had the same problem and they should chime in soon. The only time I changed mine they came right out with no problem so I really am not as qualified to give you first hand advise, IIRC some have said to soak well with penetrating oil, it may take some time for the penetrating oil to do its job. Then as you feel resistance removing use more oil and work the gp in and out slowly adding more penetrating oil, repeating this process. Good luck and I won't even try to give advise on how to get the broken piece out. If you don't know it yet we always advise never ever use anything but Motocraft ZD-11GP's PN F4TZ-12A342-BA GLOW PLUGS.

if the tip fell down into the cylinder, you may be able to fish it out by removing the injector and using a magnet or "magic fingers" to get at it through the injector hole.

if you get a plug that is sticking due to a swollen head, i have had good luck using penetrating oil and a cordless drill on the IDI diesels.
chuck the tip of the glow plug into the drill, and spray the plug with oil while slowly spinning the plug and pulling up/pushing down to cut the crap off the tip. this will cut the tip down to get it out. patience and more patience is the trick.
if you start getting mad at it, walk away and have a beer to calm down.

I guess I misunderstood you. Here are a few links to look over and they have some good advice. Wish you the best but shout out again if something is amiss...

Injector, Top View

This view is the part of the injector thet is in the hole. The top O ring seal diameter is about 2 inches, which is the size of the hole you would use to try to retrieve the pieces.

Did the tip fall into the cyl ?
If NOT, then take a 2x4 and hold it over the glow plug hole and have someone crank the engine over. it will SHOOT out so be VERY careful

If it comes down to it . Remove the injector cups too ...Less work than pulling the head .

I want to thank you all for your help i thought i would let you all know what happened!I Was able to get all but 2 of the gp out with gentle force but 2 of them broke in the head! To remove them, the one i took the injector out then drilled out the gp and removed all the pieces through the injector hole with a magnet and a shop vac! The other one i just took a punch and hit the tip into the cylinder and took the injector out and used a magnet again to get the tip out of the cylider! using a punch and hammer worked better because i didnt have a lot of small pieces to fish out!
