Removing Glow plugs

Question Removing Glow plugs

I replaced the glow plugs 2 or 3 years ago.put never seeze on the threads when I put them in. Cant get them to turn at all. Any suggestions?

yea go to a mechanic they break they pay to remove what they broke and fix it

Blow, vaccum around the G/P's then use PB blaster. Fill the "well" around the G/P and leave over night then repeat.

deanj, thanks for the info. Sounds like you may have had the same problem. PB blaster is great stuff. Does anyone use never seeze? Actually, I think I over torqued when I put them in.

i do the clean and pb routine also. let it sit overnight, and then spray it again till you can crack them loose. never seize is a must use. only tighten them finger tight. i think the book calls for 15 inch pounds or something like that.

Easy to do since the spec is only 12 ft/lbs IIRC....

Use a small socke wrench so as to not put too much torque on them while trying to loosen. This could prevent breakage.
