Glow Plugs

Well, I am having trouble with my psd starting on cold mornings. I have checked the GPR and it is working fine so I think it is time to replace the glow plugs. Does anyone have the Ford part #? I found a set on Ebay and I want to make sure they are the right ones. Also if anyone has any advice on removal that would be great. Do the tips break off regularly or is this more an exception than the rule?
Thanks
Devon

Takes 4 hours or so to do all. You will need a 10mm thin walled socket to get them out. Must remove intercooler pipes on both sides plus move or tie up heater hoses on pass side plus have a good jointed adapter for your socket on pass side. If careful you can reuse gaskets and while you are there make sure your UVC connector box is closed proper and I would shim the latch to make sure it stays closed. Back bolt on driver is a bit#h, and so are three others on pass side, take your time & be patient. Once in remove all oil surrounding the existing glow plug I did this with controlled air pressure and a rag laid over top so it wouldnt splatter, but an eye dropper or way to suck the oil up would work too. I believe 14 ft pounds of torque is recommended on glow plugs. Hope this helps.

Thanks Medhvac. I just wanted to be sure before I ordered them. Pretty good deal, $66 delivered to my door. Now to have a look at what I need to do to get them changed.

autolites used to be the way to go, but it seems lately (ie, past 5+ years) theres been some bad experiences. I'd stick with ford or IH unless those autozone plugs prove worthy.
