The only good reason I can see for destroying it would be it was over the GVWR, and even then......... otherwise there is no good reason they couldn`t fix the safety issues on a $100k limo! even if it needed $20k, $30k or more in repairs it would have been worth it.
I pray my X never sees this video. I have no idea how it would effect her psyche. However, I will be showing this to my 5 year old son, he will think it is awesome.
Typical Government operation... Take something worth a lot of money then just destroy it. The real reason they killed it was that they do not want people seeing the EX and wanting one for themselves.
Best line, "It doesn't meet the safety standards". Bull *****
I would LOVE to know what "safety standards" were not met during the conversion. That thing was picked up by its roof and never sagged or twisted. Structurally, it looked like a pretty solid stretch to me.
I'm guessing that they were far over GVWR, which would pose a safety issue unless the brakes and suspension were upgraded to handle the extra load.
The solution is to fix the problems, but of course when government gets involved common sense goes out the window and they waste vast amounts of resources.
I wonder how bad the frame was on it, I've seen some dooseys over the years. I think they more do it as example than anything else, kinda like a Cali street racer having to watch his/her car get crushed as part of the punishment, and not being able to pull any parts off of it.
There is often a MUCH longer stretch Excursion limo at the Reno, NV
airport whenever we go there. Maybe it made the other tiny cars
feel inadequate and they DIDN't feel safe around it.?
