If it's the 04 6.0 as in your profile, yes, it'll shift a little harder but if you don't have studs installed in your heads, you're gonna blow something running a high performance tune! Did you have custom tunes written or are the tunes the standard ones that came with the SCT?
I just installed a sct on my 04 f250 6'0. Is it normal to shift hard? also it's on street mode will I get better mileage on performance mode . I posted this but accidentally deleted it a minute ago. also any pros and cons about sct
The harder shift sounds normal. And I'm not sure about the performance mode. Who set the programmer up for you? I haven't heard of Mike from 5 star doing a "performance mode", but hopefully someone who knows more puts their two cents in soon
+2 on the takes a little for the trans to learn. Just put a new custom tune in mine and its shifting a little hard, already smoothing out on the way home though
The canned SCT Street and Performance tunes are very mild, they won't hurt anything.
I get the best MPG with the Street tune. Have never tried the Tow tune. The Performance tune is pretty good, but at that point might as well go with a custom tune.
I have a couple from Vivian with one that is stock head bolts safe that will make ya crap your pants.
