Is this your truck?? It's been in the shop 10 times!! My 06 has never been in the shop. I ran the warranty out with no issues,

I hope your getting this thru a dealer with some kind of warrete and not a privite party with no warrente, one good thing is the hpop has been replaced

Looks like they messed around a lot with the HPO system. I did not see the replacement of oil cooler, or FICM. Almost all these engines need this at some point. It would pay you to take your ScanGauge2 on a test drive and check FICM volts and oil temps vs colant temps. Also see if the ICP is correct. Check ICP and IPR duty cycle.

Looks like the engine problems started around 60k.


What concerns do you have with it?

Well I've been reading about main issues. Not so much the hpop system. Also the fuel injectors. It is a private sale. I planned on bullet proofing but not right away. I just figured $14k in my area was a good deal. But maybe I should play it safe and keep looking.

No mention of STC Fitting or stand pipe and D plug work. My STC went out at 140K. So you would have that to look foward to . I did the work myself for $50. bucks, $1,500 at a shop like mentioned above take your SG2 with you. I've read on here to add $5K to the price for upgrades and then decide if its worth it? 8 or 9K sounds better

Im not sure when the updated STC fitting came out, but the new HPOP's come with the revised STC fitting so it may already have the new one.

I thought the branch tube was the STC fitting?

That's a lot of repeat problems, and not the one we know Ford got wrong a lot. I'd be suspicious of this truck unless I got it real cheap.

Not to bad but they never cleaned the EGR valve... Most of the related stuff was CD player and updates. Should have all the bugs worked out now.
