X3 tuner
I've had an X3 tuner for a while and run my 87 performance tune and was wondering about the shift options that you can adjust before loading the tune. Has anyone played with these? I didn't want to mess something up but was wondering if I could squeeze a little more out of the tune.

Opinions vary alot on shift firmness. I personally like to turn mine up 25% on all shift points with my Edge Evolution CS. I personally love the feel of the harder shift, and it should extend the life of your transmission too.

I have an X3 also, custom tuned by Mike @ 5 Star. I cannot comment on the % increase of the firmness of the shifts, but I know that they are much more firm than before. Mike was also able to change the shift points, specifically for 4th gear, to a level that suited by daily driving.

Why play with Mike's tunes? If you were to call or email him he'll revise anything that you already have. The man knows what he's doing, so personally I'd rather him revise a previous tune, than me change the parameters without knowing any limits. Just my $.02
