I installed the Predator over the weekend. Currently running the 60HP program. Impressive! I increased the trans shift pressure, but still feel it could be better. Don't really feel it shift harder unless I stand on it a bit. I will be trying the tow mode this weekend at 40HP. I'm assumming it will shift firmmer as did the Superchips when I had it installed on the tow mode at 60HP.
Just looking for some conversation on the new Predator install.
I had the Predator and my trans shifted softer than the stock program. I too put it all the way to firm and still had a real mushy shift. The folks at FTE said no problem ship it back for a refund. The microtuner had a stock shift feel, no better no worse. FTE said my stock program is a problem to reprogram.
The main shift issue I have is this: the shift from 1st to 2nd happens just out of the hole and seems to hold back then go, almost like it's slipping into 2nd. Just doesn't feel right.
The tow mode set at 30% seems to shift more straight forward, but the fuel mileage is better in the 60hp econo performance tune. I'll be giving Ken a call today to see if there will be any updates coming soon to correct the shift problem. Maybe a 4 stage chip would be better to go with
