Ok, so I'm really happy with the truck I picked up saturday...
But she is just begging to have some cab marker lights installed. Looks naked without them (also needs a winshield visor... any suggestions? I hear they are now discontinued for these years?!?)
So I have been going crazy searching here and on google. I have found bits and pieces of info...
I know you can get a factory harness from Ford... Anyone know the part #?!?! I checked fordparts.com and was not listed...
Also, someone said they got harness and lights from ford, $150 out the door... I saw the marker light assemblys on fordparts.com and they were $35 EACH!
Gonna swing by ford dealer tomorrow and see what they say.
Maybe just get the harness from them, and use aftermarket lights?
I wanna use factory style lights, I dont want modern Super Duty lights, or smoked lenses, or LED's of any other **** like that... I'm old school
Any help would be awesome. Popped the kick panel today, and the factory hookup is there, and it works...
Any visor from a 1980-1997 truck will fit perfectly. The wiring harness for the cab lights is the same also, just the plug on the end changed a bit. FWIW the factory plug for the cab lights is behind the passenger kick panel.
Lots of good info here. But just want to clarify some things.
The link that ncranchero is the EXACT light you would buy from ford(QUALITY)
As for the harness 444dieselrod hit the nail on the head saying they are the same from 80-97 with just a minor change on the feed plug(easily modified) 80-91 is one style plug(it plugs in on the Drivers side kick panel). 92-97 is another style plug(plugs in on Passengers side kick panel). I would buy a used harness and save your $$
As for the visor. Lund used to make them for $99. then they got bought up a couple of years ago by Keystone Restyling and they stopped making the visor. BUT, now they are making them again
#12159 is what you are looking for. Just a FYI, they went up DRASTICALLY in price
