This may be a stupid question do I apologize but I can't find any info. Is there any reason why I can't buy the newer style led cab lights from the 2017-18 super duty's for my 2012? Is there a certain wiring harness I need? My dealer is not much help. Thanks
Do you already have cab lights? If you do there are only 2 things that would potentially cause a problem. The voltages of the bulbs, some LEDs are less than 12v and the footprint of the light, they look smaller then the older style, although I've never seen one up close.
If you do not have cab lights already then you could use those lights and install them like any other aftermarket set. Grab the appropriate wires and tie them all in.
Thanks! I should have clarified that I do not have cab lights at all now. So would I need some social wiring harness? I also read somewhere that there's already a wiring harness above my headliner?

I'm not sure if that harness is there on a truck without unfortunately. Might need to peak up there to see. I think they started not having extra pigtails on harness for things that weren't there.
These may help you out. Recon has a set and then the associated harness for trucks that didn't come with the lights. Keep in mind these are for the 17-18 so where that harness plugs in may not exist in your truck. You may want to reach out to this company to see if they can send you the instructions to see if you have where that harness is supposed to plug in.
