I got my back surgery reset for Feb 12. I won't be driving for about 3~4 weeks.
Being the PNW and all the rain I was thinking of filling the tank up and putting
a trickle charger on the truck and parking it.
I have two disks that need to be cleaned up. It's called microdiscectomy. Look it up on Youtube.
I know I won't again. Anyway they are working on L4 L5 S1. I fell at a job and blew out the disks
and have had back and leg pain. Really makes it hard to work on equipment for a living.
Dr said I would need a babysitter for a few weeks NO lifting and bending.
I had the L5-S1 disc removed in 1989, Best thing I could have done considering. It's been good ever since. If I do something dumb like being over a fender all day a couple of Advil at bedtime and I'm good to go the next morning. I was back at work in three weeks with a 5 lb. weight limit that was increased by 5 lbs. every month. Once again, good luck Sean and keep us in the loop.
Fuel conditioner in the fill up, drain ficm just in case, if the oil is close to needing a change I would Change that. Put the trickle charger on a timer for only 4 hours a day.

Drain the FICM?
We're talking a couple weeks here not a couple years LOL
Maybe my definition is a little different, but short term storage to me would be 3-6 months.
A trickle charger for a couple weeks is all that's needed.
The charger I will be using is one of the smarter ones. You can watch it cycle
on and off. Then it goes to a float charge. The oil change has about 2000 miles
to go. I always put a dose of PM-23 in it. And the last think is will be parked
under the security camera where I can take a quick look at any time.
Because it will have time to sit I may put on a good leather dressing and
that will give it time to really soak in.
On the surgery they are not removing the full disk just the bits that are pressing
on the nerve root for the left side of the 2 joints. They say it will take less that 1 Hr
of surgery to do this.
I'll keep you all posted and NO I won't post any photos
