hpop lines

....Damn it. I'm tooling with the truck, and want to install my lines thats been hang'n aroundthe workbench for 3+months now. I made a tool.. , to remove existing lines. Problem is, my new intl lines, #1831420C91 and #1827889C91, the 1 line has 90* at one end, straight on the other. THEE other line has 90* at both ends... Looked on my truck, and both lines have 90* at pump, straight ends, into the heads....WHAT GIVES?

It sounds like you may have gotten an E99 line or an L99 line if yours is early.

You're good. Driver side gets the straight fitting, 90s go to HPOP and the passenger side. I have the same and they work.

My late 99 had the early on the pass. side, no 90 into the head. Had I known better I would have gotten the e99 again from Clay. He has both, and the e99 is easier to install. The 90 makes the line go down into the already crowded valley, but you'll get it.

The term e99 and 99.5 are not universal across the board. You may have a truck with a 99.5 engine but e99 suspension. You also may have an engine with 99.5 HPOP/injectors/plenums/turbo/spider but still have the early style front cover and HPOP hoses. Some things didn't switch over until the stock was depleted for the early style part. It's hard to be certain for sure so that is why you have to be careful when ordering stuff.

BTW, the hose with the 90 degree at both ends is for the passenger side. It will work just fine but you want to hold it in place to make sure the fittings are indexed correctly before you snap them in. It will be easy to figure out once you have it down in there....

thanks for the positive thinking, guys. When in there, and "rough" fitment being done, i couldn't believe the fitting was different. Tell ya, that really "chapps my a$$"..(Tugly, another one, lol)..anyhow, NOW that i got everything back in, w/out the lines, i'll install or give a shot, come thursday. today and tomorrow just no time for any "surprises"...

That one's so embedded in our language that I can't pin it down to one reference. "Bicentennial Man"?
