Appreciate all the input. So I wrapped it up late last night. I put new hoses & thermostat when I did the EGR /cooler about a year ago. All parts from Ford. So you know how the OE hoses come with the pinch clamps on them already. When I put the new hoses I could not get the OE clamp off the lower hose at the cover clamp was like imbedded in the rubber so I just used it as it came, all other hoses I double clamped with quality worm clamps. Since it was dripping off the power steering pump that hose was the only thing above it. So after I ripped all the stuff out to finally get in there with a mirror & light I could see wetness. Long story short pulled the hose, removed OE pinch clamp, cleaned hose/cover, installed 2 quality worm clamps, tightened her up, re-assembled the mess, filled her back up, ran her for awhile w/ heater on while I cleaned the wet front end, then pumped her up to 15PSI & had a beer. After the beer i looked under & dry as a bone! Wooooohoooooo!!! Couldn't see anything with everything in the way. Thank u all for your help. Its 10 degrees out & I am warm finally.
Glad you found the problem Ed, I in a slow process of removeing those clamps ,they are real hard to remove with out the tool , I have a plumbers wrench for the worm clamps torxs to the right spec .
Thanks Mike & BadFord. I tried a few tools but found the medium size channel locks to fit the best. My neighbor stopped by while i was working & told me they make a tool just for those clamps but I am not aware of it. I will never use those clamps again.
For the worm clamps I used a 1/4'' ratchet tight with my "left" hand. Also used quality clamps, not the BS you find in the parts stores that when u tighten them up they pop & break!
Thanks Ed , yea thats the tool ,but most are changeing to to known worm clamps wide body I have seen some mech work with these and throw them aside because of the handle ratchet so theres good and bad ones , plumbers torx ratchet is what I have in the box.
