Brake Controller help

Hello, I need to install a electric brake controller, my 2003 7.3 f250 lariat already has the connector in the back right on the receiver. The guy today told me that I can get a quick disconnect that will go from the harness right to the controller. Does anyone know how to install this? Good deals? What kinda controller to get? Do's and don'ts? All info welcome, I'll be pulling a 20ft enclosed trailer!
Thanks

Tekonsha P3 is a good low cost unit. There are several places you can find them.
Here is just one.
Brake Controller | etrailer.com

Check Ebay:

There is a socket under the center of the dash to plug into.

I have the Tekonsha P3 installed. Let me know if you want and I'll snap some pics of the installation for you. The P3 came with the adapter for the controller to your factory socket.

When I get home from work I'll take mine off and see if there's a part number stamped on it anywhere.

X2 on that, PO had a pretty cheap one in there and I figured there wasn't much difference in controllers. After smoking my trailer's tires a few times and locking up and shaking my wife around (they complain about that), I invested in the P3. Huge difference and a lot of great features like the surge function, especially useful in slick conditions. Good luck!

i use a Prodigy controller and never had a problem. Had it for almost nine years and not one issue, has boost control and its self leveling. And mine came with the one piece wire harness
