Mine doesn't start instantly via remote start. You can hear the truck "power on" like it does when you turn the key and the fuel pump runs and glow plugs turn on. It waits a couple secs and starts, about the same amount of time I wait for the glow plug light to turn off when starting with the key.
If the truck is already warm it doesn't seem to pause much before it starts but when it's cold there is a obvious pause before it starts.
Anyone notice on remote start the truck just starts right up....it stays on longer, glow plug light, when I'm starting with key.
5 degrees here last night and 7 tomorrow.
Just wondering.

I've noticed the same thing, doesn't seem like nearly as long a time to allow the glow plugs to work when remote starting. Makes me kinda nervous sometimes.
I haven't noticed any deference in mine but it hasn't been that cold, 13°F is the coldest night so far. I think part of it is that when you are starting the truck with the key at least for me I think all of the inside electronic stuff turns on first then the glow plugs. So when you remote start the fuel pump and the glow plugs are it and the ceramic glow plugs reach over 2,200°F in two seconds, so it won't take long even when it's cold.

Your glow plugs go from ambient temps to 2000° in 2 seconds. So the truck doesn't need a lot of waiting for the glow plug.
the remote start checks all the computer data and starts the truck based on that data saying it is ready to start. It was -5° here this morning. Truck started cranking with in about 2 seconds of my pushing the buttons.

I'd love to understand more about how the remote start checks the computer data please. It appears to me that the remote start has the same delay regardless of outside temperature or engine temps, but maybe I'm wrong. Does the PCM actually make it wait until the glow plugs are ready?

I agree. I don't notice any difference in the delay between starting at +25C and -25C. I've just been banking on the fact that I can't believe Ford would put a remote start system in the truck that didn't account for the proper starting procedure.
I think part of the problem is the perception of when the truck actually begins it's remote start procedure. I don't have my 6.7 anymore, but as I remember it was usually about 2 seconds after the lights stopped flashing that it would start, however based on my F-150 which will be running before the lights stop flashing, I'd say the glow plugs are already heating by the time you see the start of the double flash.
How about someone lock themselves inside a cold truck and give your key to someone else to remote start with you inside. Use a stopwatch if needed. I live in Georgia and don't have a remote start to test with or I would do this myself.

You obviously are no longer in Arlington, Texas as your location info states
It was cold (to me) last night, but not 5 degrees more like 25.....
and I too noticed my remote start cranked almost immediately last night as I was walking to the truck...
but honestly rarely pay attention to it and never time it...
just get within range, hit the 17 button combination and it starts...

No need to give your key to someone else. Just remote start it yourself while sitting inside.
