so ive been looking around and asking different websites about a full fuel line kit for my 79 f150 4wd long bed with dual tanks.. but i cant seem to find one. im not real sure how the dual tanks system is set up though. do both tanks go the selector valve by a rubber hose and then that goes into the main line er what? any help in this department would be appreciated thanks!
so im looking at those box or canister looking deals on, what would be the passenger side of the frame. number is 9d653.. what are they for? i remember when i took the bed off of my frame i only had one of those things and it had a hole broken on the bottom and a mouse made its home in it ... i cannot remember what it was for, i dont even remember disconnecting anything from it?

Those are the charcoal canisters that are part of the evaporative emission system. A hard line goes from the cannisters to the check valve in the top of the fuel tank. A second 3/4" dia line made of corrugated cardboard (oem) or corrugated aluminum (aftermarket) goes from the canisters to the air filter housing.
Deleting the vapor system won't cause any problems unless you live in an area that requires emission testing.
You can just remove the charcoal canister(s) and cap the line that goes to the tank or you can also remove the line to the tank and cap the valve at the tank.
If you do cap the line or valve BE SURE you change your fuel filler cap.
The non-emission tanks vent through the cap, the vapor emission tanks vent through the canister and use a non-vented cap. If you cap the lines and don't change your fuel cap to a vented model you will at minimum experience fuel starvation problems that will drive you nuts trying to track down, at worst a collapsed fuel tank.
ok sounds good thanks mike!
and now is there somewhere that i can just order everything that i need, soft and hard lines for my dual tanks? a kit that will run from both my tanks to the selector valve and over to my pump?
You might try one of these: Inline tube The brake plumbing experts Classic Tube, Preformed Tubing
Inline doesn't show anything with dual tanks. Classic shows line sets for F250 4WD super and crew cabs with dual tanks but not for the F150 4WD reg cab with dual tanks. You might give them a call and see if they have something.
I've dealt with Inline and have always been happy with their service but they don't show dual tanks.
I also know both places have custom line bending but you have to send them your old ones or a patern to follow.
well thats a no go on replacement lines, and i think sending them in would be the last option.. do you think bending them myself would be a good idea? i mean ive never done it before but how hard is it really?

Bending your own lines isn't that difficult. You'll need a good tubing bender, tubing cutter and the tubing.
On the tubing you have a couple of options. You can either get a bulk roll of 3/8" tubing or an easier way is to go to the parts store and get lengths of steel brake line. It's easy to get, easy to bend, not very expensive and you can get it in lengths from about 6" to 6'.
The challenge would be putting the ridge on the tube where the hose slips over it. They make tools for this but they tend to be expensive. You can "cheat" a little here, put a double flare on the end but only partially collapse it instead of completely finishing the double flare. This will leave a little "bulb" on the end which will work.
As far as modifying the Supercab set, that may or may not work very well, I don't know.
When you bend your own lines you can route them how you want too.
last time i did this i just used fuel injection hose. it is really tuff and easy to use. any spots where i thought it would rub i put thick rubber around them.

That's what I did also. It's kinda expensive fuel line, but I thought it worked great and will hold up pretty well.
