Fuel line replacemnet

We have an '88 F-350 1 ton,one of the fuel lines melted against the exhaust. We spliced the line and protected it,etc. I'm curious about replacing the enire fuel line and what type or where to get some new material. According to several Ford dealers the truck is too old get any replacement fuel line from any dealers, they simply do not stock it anymore. So basicaly I'd appreciate any suggestions or tips on replacing the line. The truck has dual tanks on it the transfer switch seems to work nad there is a new pump in the rear tank. The rear tank is plastic and the front is steel, another question is I usually run on the front tank it seems the fuel in the rear tank keep getting contaminated from the top where the rubbergasket and fuel gauge is connected. Thanks in advance and all/any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

If it melted I'm guessing the line is all rubber? If so any old rubber hose of the same diameter from the parts store will do. Most performance shops will also give you the option of braided steel lines although you'll need to install an appropriate fitting on your tanks in order to connect it. Ordinary steel lines can also be bought at parts stores, it's not that hard to use a flair tool, tube cutter, and any necessary fittings can also be bought.

It's a plastic line and fuel injected with pressure from the pump to the in line filter to injector rail. I have copper tubing and flare tools etc. Thanks
