first things first.
not at all intent on sounding like a tool here... but...

if you need to ask exactly what to throw at your truck to make that kind of hp... you probably arent ready to handle that much hp. with the added performance will also come the need for more stringent maintenance. your going to need to know how to read your truck when something fails due to the mods...

read.

read about injectors...
read about nozzles...
read about turbo setups.
read about high pressure oil.
read and learn to understand the heui injection system.
definitely read and learn all you can about how to get your truck READY for power mods...

the moral here...
read!

Get the truck to 100% before doing anything. If your running a chip with no gauges to monitor EGT's, Boost and Trans temp at a minimum, I would pull the chip until you install a set. "canned" tunes can produce very high EGT's and can push transmission temps pretty high as well. Im pretty new to diesels myself but thats what I gathered from reading what a good base setup is. Depending on the mileage and shape of your transmission, Usually that's the first to go.

We can get you setup with everything you need to hit 400HP. There are many ways to go about getting there.

After doing the basics such as intake, exhaust, gauges, and chip, then you will need to look into injectors, HPOP, and a turbo.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested or have anymore questions. I will be happy to help you.

I spent a year driving my truck before I started to modify it. I then spent another year learning all that I can to do a balanced power upgrade. It does no good to jack up the fuel without jacking up the air (for example). After the turbo upgrade, my 2000 F250, "Stinky", blew his 12-year-old intake seals. After the injector install, my IPR plugged up and I couldn't reach enough ICP to start.

If you didn't understand that last sentence, then going to a higher HP will leave you parked on the forum, posting help questions. I say all of this because like Christof13T said, get to know your truck before you go on a revving rampage. I back up Kdr358 as well... It does no good to mod if the exhaust leaks or you have a bad EBP sensor. If you have a well-stocked Buck$Zooka and can pay to have all the mods done (and the repairs that follow... about $10,000 - $15,000 parts and labor) then we can walk you through it. DP tuner can supply the package, as can a number of other vendors or a combination of them. If you don't have this cash sitting around someplace, then you will likely want to do this in stages... understanding each stage as you go.

I started with gauges and chip... then I worked my way through exhaust leaks, inaccurate sensors, exhaust upgrades, troubleshooting software, etc.... My goal was reliable service, excellent towing manners and lower EGTs, fuel economy, longevity, and a power bump would be nice... but not necessary.

400HP is an attainable goal - that's what I have (not confirmed on the dyno yet). I didn't see a goal like "I want lower towing EGTs" or "I just want to show off to the neighbor who has a ricer". I have read things like "I just want to blow coal"... which used to mean you were puttin' down the power - now it just means you're burning your bucks and your truck up at the same time (opinion alert!)

It's all dependent on what you're willing to spend, and how fast you want to spend it. The main question is, what are you wanting 400hp for? Is this your daily driver, your work horse, or your toy? If it's a toy, just call Justin and he'll hook you up: intake, turbo, full exhaust including uppies, injectors, big oil, and DPs famous 400hp toy tune... Then be ready to call Johnwoods or BTS for a tranny.

If it is your work horse or daily driver, better do some much needed maintenance first, get the systems to 100%, then start looking at what intake you want to go with, turbo, oil, injectors, and get yourself some good tunes. DP has already jumped in, you can also look at PHP, gear head, BTS, Swamps. Keep in mind with that many upgrades you'll need to be live tuned, or Atleast custom tuned.

Good luck, and welcome to FTE!

Edit: watch out for Tugly, he's a cautionary tale (his words to me a while back)
