What coil?
I need a new coil for my truck, whenever I unplug it some sort of oil drips out of the plug boot. I clean it off and it runs great, but everyday or so it fills back up and starts to hesitate.
So my question is what coil should I get for my truck? It's a 1979 F250 4x4, 400 with a Edelbrock intake, Carter 650 carb, cam, mild port and polish on the heads, balanced and blue printed block, high compression. The ignition itself it stock. I was thinking of a MSD coil from summit, but would it work with the rest of my ignition?
Thanks for the help, I figure I'd ask and learn from the guys that know how to work on these trucks.

I believe the second one(p/n 8205) is the one I want, right? Or would either work?
The bracket that holds my coil also holds it sideways, is this okay? I thought they were supposed to be up and down?

Both coils have exactly the same output.
The 8205 is slightly wider, and the top 2 connectors are specifically for the ford connection.
The 8203 takes direct wire connections.
Yes, the coil should be preferably vertically mounted.

With a stock ignition system, there is no reason to spend any extra money on a "performance" coil.

Thanks for that link. I read up on it and ended up with a coil from the parts store. My truck was having problems starting, so I didn't have time to wait for one to come in the mail anyway.
