From the other hot rod board I have read that these wiper motors originally used on 4-4.5 amps max but this was stated by someone that has led me astray a couple of times now and I am done relying on his in-put so this may or may not be correct.
Or how about this one, from the same hot rod board:
"I am having trouble finding information I can rely on when it comes to the wiper motor in my 52 truck. There are some great guys that know electrical very well on the mid eighties stuff ( which is where alot of my electrical components come from ) but when it comes to the earlier stuff they are not so knowledgeable and some of the guys that deal more with the earlier stuff are just throwing things out and from what I found really are not helping because they have no real world experience with what I am dealing with."
This set up was made by Lucas (q jokes about Lucas electrics being made of smoke) and fitted to many UK cars in the 60s and 70s. It was used in minis, jags, vauxhalls and probably a few others
It's easy to fit and modify to suit as its cable drive so the motor can be mounted out of the way, gives 2 speeds with auto park, The tubes are easily cut to adjust spacing between the wipers

Or in simpler terms..... ...Don't pee in the pot you're drinking out of.
I measured 6 Volt wiper motor current at 4 to 4.5 Amps with a wet windshield (load does impact current draw). I run mine, and my gauges, from a 12V to 6V DC-DC converter that I pulled out of my electronics junk box.
I hope that this helps.
You can use a 1.3 to 1.5 Ohm resistor that is rated at fifty Watts or more. Mount it where it can get hot safely. It will dissapate roughly 30 Watts when in use.
Surplus electronics shops would be the cheapest source.
Or rebuild the vacuum motor.
Bob; are you sure that pot is to scale, or the correct size? its definitly the wrong color! looks like a Pooh pot. ya know a hunny pot full of hunny....
anyway. this has been a timely discussion as i am getting ready to reinstall my wiper motor in the F6 and probably need to know all this also.
so can anyone point me to a thread that tells me what I need? wait, what do I need? sorry i couldnt resist.... just messin.
Ive got extra 6 volt wiper motor assemblys plus an aftermarket 12v setup from ??? that was in a parts truck. ill probably just use that.
