Do you have a second remote? Does that one work?

I had something similar happen to my 2003 Excursion, and still do not have a solution. I had three remotes programmed and working for over a year, and then one day two of them simply quit working altogether.
I pulled out a spare remote, installed a new battery, and went tried going through the programming routine to get it into service, but the vehicle absolutely will NOT go into the programming cycle. Funny thing is that at the same time, the numeric keypad on the door will no longer unlock the doors either... it will lock them, but not UNlock them.
I am left with only one remote which still works today as well as it did three years ago. Fortunately, since it has the chipped keys and I do have several of them available, I can still have multiple sources for getting into the vehicle.
