in addition to the redline... long red wire looking thing... looks like it might be going up under the wiring track at the front of the cowl... (gotta love a 1080p tablet & razor sharp 20/10 (with the support of little plastic discs suction cupped to my eyeballs))
looks like it could even be a piece of red twine but it gets kinda hard to tell... even the zoom on this thing has its limits. fun to play where's waldo tho.
Oil fill cap, conventional coolant (not an issue per say), I was thinking the red wire was a sensor/sender wire, but I don't see any guages inside... Could be one hidden maybe. Or the hot wire from the battery to the CB? Almost looks like it's going to the alternator.
Everything else looks clean and stock. Not a fan of the exterior handles, I think they look much better on the previous body style...
Intercooler pipe leaving the spider on the drivers side has the clamps flipped up and looks like way to much threaded stud sticking out of the clamps for some reason.
New coolant tank with wrong fluid.
New alternator.
The broken oil cap.
The red wire looks like it is going to the Alt. Wonder what kind of charging problems the guy went threw. It also kind of looks like it goes out over the fender.
And the foil on the drivers pipe looks extra clean for 300K miles.
Not much out of the ordinary besides that 1 wire. lol
I see nothing really "wrong" under the hood. Popping the cover off the oil cap is common when the rachet paws break, leaving you with a non removable oil cap. The green coolant is not wrong, just more work to maintain. My guess on the wire is that is where he is pulling power for the cb. Dumb yes, wrong I'm not sure. It would be safe with a fuse, but I can't think of a place get power that would have more electrical noise.
The thing that gets me are those grab handles on the side. The front handles are mounted to the rear doors. I can see bad things happening there. It seems you would have to open the front doors before the rear to keep your doors from colliding.

Maybe thats why he describes it as a "SHORTED" instead of a shortbed.
