The folks are home. I have enough hay down at ground level where dad doesn't have to climb the hay pile. The pastures are in good shape so the horses could actually be self sufficient except for water, and the creek is full so that takes care of that aspect just in case dad doesn't get the water troughs filled. My sister and BIL will step up to the plate (or else) and help out where needed. Dad rides around on the new riding mower like a teenager with a new hot rod............isn't anything that needs mowed out there............including some of moms flowers!
All in all, we should be good.
My MIL is actually going to be the bigger problem and both boys will be checking and keeping an eye on her. Hopefully there won't be any problems. She is already running my wife ragged trying to come up with every excuse to keep us home.
Pulled all of the clearance light lenses off of the camper and cleaned lenses, lights and mounting brackets. Put them all back together and sealed them up.
Made it down to Junction City and got the camper dropped off at the shop for repairs. Begrudgingly made our way to Eugene (what a horrible prospect for a die hard OSU fan) for some lunch. Stopped at a huge junk yard on the north edge of Sodom and picked up a spare tire and all the factory goodies for my daughter's VW. Plus a few miscellaneous parts that she wanted to replace.
I spotted a OEM rear sway bar for my Powerstroke and was quoted $50 for the parts. I plan to stop again next Friday when I go back down to pick up the camper.
Stopped at OSU, which balanced out stopping in Sodom (Eugene). Checked out the new bookstore. Purchased most of my daughter's books for fall term.
Stopped at Costco in Wilsonville on our way home.
Best part... My truck averaged 22 mpg on the highway from Albany to home
