I'm so pissed off I can't stand it. Why would this country treat it's wounded vets this way? What can I do to help the poor guy out. He feels like the country would just wish he'd go off and die. I'm having a real hard time with it...
The problem is the Va is full of bureaucrats that don't give a damn. Theres too damn many of them, and the one's that are there aren't paid enough to care, because there are too damn many of them, so they get paid less. And the ones in charge spend too much time justifying their jobs, and covering their asses. Basically, your typical gubment operation.
It just makes me sick to see my friend in serious pain, and I can't do a damn thing to help him. This country should be ashamed, and heads should roll over this crap. No excuse for leaving our disabled vets to die a lonely death with no help from the country that they kept safe. I ashamed of my own country.....
I know what you mean, Don. No one is being held responsible, though. Goverment worker are held responsible. Politicians are held responsible. Everyone wants to blame everyone else, but no one want to fix it. At least no one with the capacity to do so.
I'm probably a little sensitive today. With the good news I got yesterday I was feeling great, then I go see my friend and come back to reality. Not to happy now...
I know. But, you and I have the same thoughts on this. It's just criminal how the veterans in this country, after the sacrifices made by so many, are just treated like second class citizens by the goverment.
It doesn't help that Kathy (Rob's wife) was in the Army also and was stationed at a place that was just found to have heavy contamination, and has been having heart problems. Rob is worried sick that something will happen to her, and he'll be left alone with nobody to care for him. I told him last night that that will never happen. Melody and I will take him into our home and do it ourselves. The hell with the government.

You and me both Brother, but if the worst happens we'll be there. Melody, Harley and I have already talked it over, and we told them we'll be there to take care of him. It's the least I can do for a fellow Vet.
Thanks for the kind words Pat. I just can't let things like this be. I have to do what's right, no matter what the cost. I'm nobody special, just your average joe, but doing what is right has been drummed into me from the day I was born. I couldn't do it any other way...
Thanks. I do need to talk about something else before I explode.
After our meeting yesterday I have to get the blueprints of the changes I'm making done, then apply for the permits. Should take a couple of weeks. After the permits are in place we can get to work on the remodel. We have a bunch of work at the base to do also, and that's what will keep us busy until we can start on the house.
They have enough cash to buy all the supplies I'll need, and since we're trading the work for money off the motor pool, they wont have to worry about taking the labor out of the cash reserves.
