Janet keeps telling me to stop spending money on that old tractor.
I like the way it cuts, and it works well for plowing/tending a small garden.
Once I make the final move to the new property, I'll have to get something bigger/ newer. It would take way too long to keep up with 19 acres with the old girl
Good evening Oregon. Made it home from South Shore at Detroit Lake. Got up this morning and found the wife's car with a driver front tire flat. Couldn't blow it up that early because of noise restrictions in the camp ground, so went fishing.
Got back, blew up the tire. Two hours later it was half deflated again. Ate breakfast and went fishing!!
Got back, tire still wouldn't fix itself. Decided we would leave a little early so we could get down the mountain to a Les Schwab before they closed. Ate lunch and went fishing.
Got back in, got the boat out of the water, aired the tire up and headed down the mountain. Stopped at Mill City to air the tire up again. Got to Les Schwab in Sublimity 30 minutes before they closed. Tire had non repairable slit or gash on the inside sidewall. We ended up buying two new tires. They adjusted the old ones out at 37% life left. I opened mouth and inserted foot...........probably have to sleep in dog house tonight. Wife asked what would cause a gash or split on the side wall. I did not recognize the voice that instantly replied, "Curbs and female drivers", but I have been told it emanated from my mouth.
Fishing was good. This week was reversed. I showed the wife who really is the expert and out fished her by 5 to one. Found a new little cove to fish. Sonar did an excellent job of painting the stumps on the bottom (45 to 62' deep) so we were able to stay out of them. (Usually fish the gravel bars and rocky areas up there) Started picking up a lot of native rainbows in this area. Had a blast. Tons of fish. Spent 3 hours on catch and release. Spent several hours doing the same thing again today.
No, not really. The one 13 1/2" was the whopper. Natives were averaging around 12 and the planters were running around 10. Rooster tails and power bait on 18 trebles with 2lb line and 2lb leader. Had the drag set so loose the spool was about to fall out of the real, but you could get some line rippers that way and fool yourself into thinking you were catching real fish.
