Design does require wind loading and the weight of the antenna and rotators. Cannot require guying. The design I'm working on will be installed horizontally on the top of their comm trailer, will tip up and than crank up to a minimum of 33'
The trailer is a ex-military comm unit and contains all the radios and repeaters necessary to run a complete emergency comm center. Room for two operators. I'm adding 4 corner outriggers for stability.
I've had several meetings with them, and so far they like my design. Working on some funding now...
Evening guys. Back from Redmond and helping Ray(padd54) get his truck running. He was going to install the Radiator, the fan belts and new set of plugs. Then he can run a break in run on the new cam. I only ran it for a min. just to make sure it would start every time.
Was beautiful here today, 75 or so..................Now it's clouding up, looks crappy.
Glad all the outdoor work is done, hope it stays dry so I can drop the boat in the water across the road tomorrow.
Back home again. Granddaughters went fishing, again. Then I went out to the farm for some coyote hunting. I did nothing to reduce their population today.
Stopped by a local cemetery on the way home to check on some relatives including my GGG Granddad & Grandma's grave sites. Guess I'll head out in the morning with the lawn mower and some spray. The farmer and his son that usually keeps it up real nice - hasn't this year. Will have to check with them and see what's up.
In the meantime......................In the spirit of the memorial day weekend may we all remember a departed Vet.............................from the little community pioneer cemetery (not a known relative):
The girls didn't do so good this afternoon. The oldest granddaughter (our up and coming biologist and zoologist) caught two snakes around the pond. One was a pretty good sized garter snake.
I'm still trying to figure out what the second one was. Haven't been able to match it to any pictures I've seen on the net so far. There were no fangs and no rattles so we were good to go there.
Well I put the black SHO back together after I got back from Redmond yesterday. I stopped at Home Depot and picked up a 100' roll of fence and a few T post, so I would have something to do today before the race.......
