Its a really good thing its here and I'm very glad I joined! I have learned SO much in the 10 months and 7 days I've been here.
Listen to Don, he's not blowing smoke up your butt to get you to buy a fancy chrome plated knock-off of 40 yr old PROVEN technology. We want you to spend LESS and get the solid engineering that was put into the duraspark OEM Ford parts. It can do anything that these Summit ones can do and be FAR more reliable and easy to find parts for if you ever need to.
It never ceases to amaze me how these folks keep re-inventing the wheel, and trying to call it "New and improved!!!" and in the course, rape your wallet.
Evening all, I'm the long hair armed wacko on here. Spenf the weekend in Portland, roadster show, with the race club. Loged on here and have 20 pages of reading!!!
Been reading all the Duraspark gabb, I agree with you guys. It's a very reliable ignition, the advance curve is a little lazy for performance applications but that can be tweaked. I had a Friend convert one to mechanical advance and a MOPAR type control box with a hot coil for my drag car. It performed flawlessly for three seasons and the car still starts in less than three revolutions today. All for less $ than a MSD distributor cap.
Morning Don! Unfortunately, the damn weather didn't cooperate. Cold windy and wet. The 3 conditions I don't work in! I might try next weekend. The damn weather supposed to be the same for the next two weeks, highs only 38-40. Dammit.
I hope it works out also, but I'm not holding my breath.............lol
Ed and I have had other offers before, and none of them worked out for one reason or another, but hope springs eternal. This time I think it's a little more promising, but it will take several weeks to a month just to update the prospectus, and I'm up to my butt in work right now. The insurance company is supposed to issue a check in the next week or two for the rebuilding of the crazy Lady's house so I'll have that project going on, plus the dismantling of the mess hall, and my "normal" workload. I wonder if I could clone myself.....Nope, that won't work, the world isn't ready for two of me.............lol
