I want to change both fuel filters. 2007. 6.0. After changing do I simply just start the truck and let it idle. Will the engine digest the air okay ??? Or is there a way to purge the air.... Just bought the truck so I'm new to it.
Also how often do I change the oil and filter ???
And what about the fuel filters ??
I don't pull much with it. I'm not a hard driver.

Do 3 key on/ key off cycles for 10 secs. each to purge the system. Then start and you should be good to go. Make sure to use OEM only filters and caps.
One of several pieces of good advice from this site was to use the proper size sockets to remove the filter caps. My previous filter changes were always done with dealers, both caps were on extremely tight. Sprayed with penetrant and let sit for a while. My truck is a 4x4 so everything is tight on the rail filter.
cycle key 3 times then start all should be well. ck for leaks after 5 min of road test. Be carefull when removing and installing the water drain plug. There is a updated plug you can get from your local dealer Happy New Year

Here's a tip: If you've bought Motorcraft filters, don't jam your finger through the plastic wrapping of the little filter to open it up. It's got some sharp teeth in there, and it bites.
